CHRISTCHURCH EARTHQUAKE 22/02/2011
The Christchurch earthquake caused extensive damage to our retail shop at 117 Manchester Street and it had been in the red zone ever since. After ten months of waiting the building was demolished just before Christmas 2011. We were able to gain entry right at the end but the bulk of our stock was lost with the building. We are looking for suitable new premises and hope to be open again as soon as possible. In the meantime we have been restocking and our ONLINE BOOKSHOP is open and trading. We are also taking phonecalls and email as normal.
If you have books, postcards, photographs or ephemera to sell please contact us, 03 3797976 or books@smithsbookshop.co.nz
We thank all our customers for your previous patronage and support and hope to be able to meet you again in a new shop soon.
