The mixed race Fulloon, whose Maori name was Hemi Te Mautaranui, was an interpreter and sometime personal assistant to Donald McLean, the native secretary and chief land purchase commissioner. He spent his short life acting on behalf of the Government in negotiating with Maori. First edition limited to 400 copies.
