Roland Huntford (editor)

The great Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen disappeared in the Arctic in 1928. His possessions were left in disarray and his lantern slides of expeditions through the North West Passage 1903, 1911 to the South Pole and 1918 journey along the Siberian coast were thought to have been lost. Over 200 of these slides were rediscovered in 1968, providing a unique insight into the life of Amundsen.
