Kim Lockwood

John McKinlay (1819-1872) was the first European to cross Australia from the south coast to the north and return safely. He led the South Australian Burke Relief Expedition, and three years later was stranded in Arnhem Land during the wet season.This work describes his abilities as a leader and explorer.
