A plain narrative of wild life in the New Zealand bush, covering a US born enlistee in the British army, who subsequently deserted in New Zealand and lived for a time with the Maoris, eventually fighting the European colonists in Titokowaru's war.

Rebound, and loosening of some pages.  Front board is worn and marked, with heavy wear around the edges and corners.  Some tanning and foxing of interior pages.
