This sourcebook sheds light on the dimly-lit years 1824-40 which preceded the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.  The journals were not intended for publication and were written as a day-to-day report to the Church Missionary Society in London.

First edition, limited to 600 copies of which this is no. 558.  Some shelf wear.  Dust jacket has a sunned spine and is wrapped in a mylar cover. Brown boards with gilt lettering show some bumping on the ends of the spine.  Some tanning of endpapers, with an ex libris card pasted in.
