Author(s): Big Al Lester
'Big Al' Lester is the modern-day master of the hunting genre.
A Sting in the Tale is a winning combination of his best, much-loved yarns with a few new ones thrown in for good measure, all showcasing Al's characteristic sense of humour.
Traversing the length and breadth of New Zealand, 'Big Al' and his trusty companions regale with stories of all manner of beasts who got in the way, off-track trailing and, ultimately, good times enjoyed with good mates.
Al Lester was born in Nelson, the second youngest of four children. Throughout his life, Al has played rugby, golf, softball and indoor basketball at representative level, and enjoyed the thrills of hunting and skydiving. He is the author of five previous hunting titles: Hunting in the Raw (2003), A Bum in the Bush (2004), A Hard Shot in the Hills (2006), Off the Track (2008) and Arse-up Creek (2010). He joined the New Zealand Police at age 25, and was eventually promoted to Detective Sergeant. He lives in Christchurch.
