Description

This book covers BoswellÃÂôs work from 1939-1945 featuring satirical drawings of political figures from the era as well as many haunting images of a soldierÃÂôs life. Although he called London home Boswell was born in Westport,New Zealand in 1906. He travelled to London to study painting at the Royal College of Art in 1925. His last work THE GOLDEN DAY hangs in the Palmerston North Art College. Boswell passed away in 1971.

The text is by William Feaver, writer, painter, curator, for many years the distinguished art critic for The Observer. His books include Pitmen Painters, Lucian Freud and Masters of Caricature.
