Purakauiti, a small farming and timber milling district of the Catlins, is located in the hills above Tahakopa Bay.   The story of it's settlement and that of neighbouring Long Point was one of isolation and hard work - although in 1929,l the wreck of the transtasman steamer Manuka was a dramatic interlude. 

A good copy with wear and tear on the dust jacket.
