Due to a zeppelin raid in 1914, around a thousand copies of Antarctic Adventure were destroyed, making the book relatively rare.

This is an ex-library copy, from the Timaru Public Library, that has been completely rebound with a rough and worn leather spine, and buckram sides.  Unobtrusive library embossing throughout, with library cards and slips to the FEP.  Spine slanted.  Catalogue numbers in white on the spine.
