Here they are, the tombstone inscriptions and the hangman's rope, movingly recorded by a former Administrator of Norfolk Island who has a special interest in researching the island's historic beginnings. The colonial era cemetery at Kingston, Norfolk Island is a place of much fascination as it is separate from the later Pitcairn burial plots dating from 1856.

This book documents the 150 convict and colonist graves in the Kingston cemetery (1788-1814 and 1825-1856). Graves are listed numerically, alphabetically and by military regiment.
