Limited edition two-volume slipcase containing a facsimile reprint of a very rare French pamphlet originally published in France in 1797.  It purports to reproduce a manuscript stolen by an English sailor from on board one of the ships of the French explorer La Perouse while they were sharing the anchorage in Botany Bay with part of the First Fleet.

The second volume comprises a translation and commentary by Professor Dunmore, Emeritus Professor of French at Massey University, with a foldout map of Perouse's journey.

Published in two volumes in a limited edition of 500.

The volumes themselves are in very good condition, though the slipcase is warped, and as such it is difficult to remove or replace the volumes.
