Selwyn District takes its name from the Selwyn River, which in turn takes its name from New Zealand's first Anglican Bishop, George Augustus Selwyn.
This is Volume I in two volumes, mainly covering his early years and the beginning stage as the Bishop of New Zealand, 1841-1869. With portrait, lithographs and map.
VG. Foxing spread the pages, some marks on the dark green hardcover, but the binding is sound and the interior is nice and intact.
