A 1979 deluxe printing of T.L. Rodney Wilson's 1979 thesis 'submitted in fulfillment of the requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Fine Arts in the University of Canterbury.'

A gorgeously printed two-volume clothbound folio set in a clothbound slipcase.  Both volumes feature a printed black profile of van der Velden.

Very good.  Some minor marks to hardcovers.  The first volume contains the text and the colour plates, whilst the second is primarily black and white reproductions of paintings and sketches.  Some of the plates in the first volume were loose, and have been reattatched.  The old adhesive has left stains to the pages.
