A first edition of the vibrant 1940 history of Rakiura/Stewart Island.  Fully documented and embellished with illustrations and previously-unpublished maps.

Poor in poor dust-jacket.  Extensive damage to the dust jacket, including losses, tears, rodent damage, and hasty tape repairs have which have caused discolouration.  D/J has been clipped so that paper from the inside flaps could be used in the aforementioned hasty repairs.  Hardcovers are in a similar state of disrepair, also having sustained rodent damage.  Interior is relatively clean.
