Five volumes in six books covering the history of New Zealand policing from 1767 all the way through to 1992.  The first four books comprising volumes I-III are written by Richard S. Hill.  After these three volumes, two more were written: one by Graeme Dunstall, and one by Susan Butterworth

Volume 1, "Policing the Colonial Frontier", parts 1 & 2 cover 1767-1867.  VG blue hardcovers in fair dust jackets that show some wear and are chipped and torn around the periphery.


Volume 2, "The Colonial Frontier Tamed", covers 1867-1886.  Ex-library with all the marks that entails, thought otherwise good condition.


Volume 3, "The Iron Hand in the Velvet Glove", covers 1886-1917.  Near fine in near fine dust jacket.


Volume 4, "A Policeman's Paradise? - Policing a Stable Society", covers 1918-1945.  Near fine in VG dust jacket with a sunned spine.


Volume 5, "More Than Law and Order - Policing a Changing Society, covers 1945-1992. Near fine in VG dust jacket with a sunned spine.
