PhD in English literature, longstanding member of Women's Studies Association, ex-Policy Manager for Ministry of Youth Affairs, ex-Advisory Officer for Department of Social Welfare and labour. Teacher of English as a second language. Author of "Where did she come from? New Zealand women novelists 1862-1987', co-edited 'A woman's life' with Anne Else, wrote several entries for Dictionary of New Zealand Biography.
